چکیده
Spider mites are considered as a potential threat to varying agricultural crops across the globe. Among agriculturally important spider mite species, Tetranychus urticae Koch and macfarlanei Baker Pritchard severely affect crop production incur heavy yield loss in agriculture sector. As an ecofriendly pest management strategy, biocontrol using phytoseiid predatory gaining significant attention over past few decades. Evaluation of prey stage preference could provide invaluable information on efficiency any predators. Feeding experiments were conducted mite, Neoseiulus longispinosus (Evans) mulberry leaf discs under laboratory conditions 30±2ºC, 70±5% Relative Humidity (RH) photoperiod 11 L: 14 D h. After 24 hr feeding experiment, nymph adult female predator exhibited towards eggs T. macfarlanei. The larval was found be non-feeding, thus excluded from experiment. order different life stages both species identified egg>nymph>larva>adult. On contrary, nymphal trend recorded egg>larva>nymph>adult. For macfarlanei, same egg>larva=nymph>adult. Surprisingly, irrespective differences, N. hardly consumed adults.

Predatory mites that belong to the Phytoseiidae family are one of the main natural enemies of phytophagous mites, thus allowing for their use as a biological control. Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks, 1904) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is among the main species of predatory mites used for this purpose. Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae) is considered to be one of the most important sp...
متن کاملEffects of azadirachtin on Tetranychus urticae (Acari: Tetranychidae) and its compatibility with predatory mites (Acari: Phytoseiidae) on strawberry.
BACKGROUND The spider mite, Tetranychus urticae, is the major strawberry pest in Brazil. The main strategies for its control comprise synthetic acaricides and predatory mites. The recent register of a commercial formula of azadirachtin (Azamax(®) 12 g L(-1) ) can be viable for control of T. urticae. In this work, the effects of azadirachtin on T. urticae and its compatibility with predatory mit...

Life table of Tetranychus urticae and Phytoseiulus persimilis on bean leaflets were studied under laboratory conditions in three seasons. For T. urticae the development time from egg to adult varied from 7 to 24 days and the highest immature mortality was 78.70 % in winter. Eggs laid by females were 88.1 eggs in autumn and 70.6 eggs in summer season. The gross reproductive rate (GRR) was the hi...

Aponychus corpuzae is a pest of bamboo in Fujian, China. The predatory mite Amblyseius longispinosus was explored as a potential biocontrol agent against Ap. corpuzae in a series of experiments on its predation on Ap. corpuzae . The rate of prey consumption (per predator female) increased linearly with temperature from 1.35 at 15°C to 5.22 at 35°C (the relationship can be described by Y = -1.00...
